Hanging out with Miguel

Miguel was so great and hung out with me a couple days in New York. So glad he was there to show me around and teach me how to be a real New Yorker. We got to check out, a couple cathedrals that were so amazing, got empanadas, Grand Central Station, yummy chinese food, and of course macaroons. It was great to meet up with Miguel, catch up, explore and do some shopping. Thanks for introducing me to the orange store that is Joe Fresh :)

Temple & Waffles

After Sandy hit i thought it would be great to go visit the temple, nothing is more amazing then the craziness of a city and then walking into the peaceful and quiet of the temple. I was so excited to experience this because earlier that week i was able to go to an activity in the chapel in the temple which was so great. But sadly when i got to the temple it was closed, but luckily there was a tastey little waffle stand right out in front. so i sat ate yummy yummy waffles and admired the temple.

A day with matt

Matt showed us the high life of a New Yorker businessman. We got to go inside the Grace building and see Matt's office, the view was amazing. After checking out the building, we explored the town and found a great little Brazilian place where we had dinner. The food was great and it turned out to be a wonderful night.

Our trip to Staten Island

We rode the ferry out to Staten Island. It was a fun ride and i got to meet emily. It was soo cool to see that statue of liberty from the boat and be out in the fresh night air. It was great.

found this little sign and thought it was ironic.

Central Park

We walked through beautiful central park. loved it so much. it reminded me so much of parks in europe so beautiful with trees and long paths. One of the many wonderful things about New York is there is always entertainment on every corner and never a dull moment. Central Park is so beautiful in the fall with its beautiful colors.
enjoy.

After Sandy

I can now said i was part of history. Well i guess we can all say that, but i will be able to say i was there when Sandy hit. after spending the day indoor watching the Goonies, first time ive seen it (it was great), and pampering myself to keep from going crazy, we finally got the ok to go out so we decided to go out exploring the damage that sandy had done. Since the the bus and subway were down we walked most of Manhattan and it was weird to see New York so empty, dark, with all the stores closed. There were trees down and distruction everywhere. One of the coolest things i witnessed over the next couple days was how quickly New Yorkers came together to help each other and restore the city.
